Having a glass of wine is perfect for pairing with a homemade meal or simply on its own. If you're lazy there are versions that have screw-on caps which saves you the work of taking out a pesky cork. However, many of my favorite wines for example, I have no other choice but to use a corkscrew.
I suck at taking out the cork because I always manage to get some of its residue in the booze. But I found this video that will revolutionize the way you open your wines. Yes, with the cork and all!

Have you ever thought of using a shoe to open up your bottle of red or white? The idea sounds bizarre but it worked for one French guy who made a video opening up a bottle of wine simply by using his shoe.
What's the secret technique behind it? You place the bottle of wine in a shoe and tap it perpendicularly against a wall to pop out the cork. It's easier said than done as other people tried to do the same and although they managed to get the cork out it was still a little messy.
If you're wondering why this odd method works, it's because the liquid acts like a solid when there is a force against the bottle. That combination allows the force to pop out the cork. However, you have to make sure that you are using a shoe that isn't too cushioned otherwise it isn't going to work.
Hmm, interesting! Sounds like I will be trying out this strategy next time I pop open a bottle of wine. It might take longer, but these are important survival skills everyone should have in case of an apocalypse.
