Canning__ and pickling is something that I sometimes joke is in my blood. My grandfather was a big fan of it. In fact, I even remember him making his very own pickles when I was young. Now pickles are one of my favorite foods and, although I typically buy them in the grocery store, I still remember the crunch of my abuelito's fresh pickles. Let me tell you, there's simply nothing better than homemade pickles.

Now that he's not around, it's pretty much up to me to do it. I have to be honest, though: I'm still a little bit afraid of pickling. I know the basics are not that difficult but something is still holding me back. However, if I can learn how to preserve fresh fruits and vegetables with canning, then why not try my hand at pickling, too?
If you've never heard of it, the best thing about pickling is that you can pickle pretty much anything. Yes, you can go with the standard of pickling your own pickles but you know the thing that I'm REALLY dying to try? Pickling peppers! The beauty of doing this is that there are so many peppers to choose from: bell peppers, poblano peppers, even jalapeños!
