Today is the first time in a long time I wear my favorite skinny jeans and I'm already starting to have regrets. Truth is, I used to wear skinny jeans all the time–that is, until I discovered much comfier options like leggings, trousers, dresses, and skirts. Not only do skinnies press against my already sensitive stomach (I like to wear mine mid-rise) but I'm going to keep it real–the thick bonded fabric in the crotch area is totally irritating my vag right now. It's super uncomfortable and it can't be healthy either!

Unfortunately, cute clothing trends can come with a painful price. In fact, there are quite a few fashion items out there that can actually hurt your health. Take thongs for instance. Did you know these suckers can give you a UTI or yeast infection? As much as I love fashion, I refuse to wear clothes that are doing more harm than good to my body. Here are few other pieces you might want to say goodbye to!

Thongs
I gave up thongs for good in college, because I swear they gave me my first urinary tract infection. Most women don't realize it, but if the germs from the skinny part that slides in your butt get anywhere near your va-jay-jay you can easily get a UTI or vaginal infection. So NOT worth it!
Lace panties
There's a reason why doctors recommend we wear 100 percent cotton panties. And that's because they breathe more easily and absorb moisture better than other fabrics like nylon or lace.
High heels
I LOVE my tacones, but I make sure to save mine for the weekends. Thats's because the constant pressure they put on your feet can lead to everything from ankle sprains, hammertoes, pinched nerves, midfoot fractures, neuromas, bunions, and even spinal problems.
Ill-fitting bras
Is your bra feeling kind of tight? Toss it away and go get yourself a bra-fitting. Tight bras that don't fit right can cut off lymph drainage, which is basically the blood flow circulation in the breast, and even effect muscle tissue development.
Tight jeans
Tight jeans can trigger anything from yeast infections, UTIs, and even affect your intestine's ability to expand. Try looking for a super stretchy pair and don't wear them everyday either.
Tight pencil skirts
Tight pencil skirts can restrict you from moving comfortably, result in poor posture, and even lead to misalignment of the spine. I find they get me bloated too. Look for a roomier one made of a stretcher fabric.
Hoop or heavy earrings
People are always shocked to discover that I don't wear earrings, and that's because years ago I had to have ear lobe repairment surgery because it ripped from constantly wearing heavy hoop earrings. Think about that the next time you decide to wear long, heavy hoops or chandelier earrings.
Flip flops
The only time you should ever be wearing flip flops in on the beach. These germ-friendly sandals can cause anything from blisters, damaged toes, calluses, infections, to fractured bones, and because they don't offer enough arch support they can lead to a condition called plantar fascitis, which is when the thick band of tissues that runs from the heel to the ball of your foot becomes inflamed. Yikes!
Corsets
I'm not saying you have to ditch the faja, but stay clear of the corset ones which can lead to serious spinal problems.
