And don't worry—you don't have to hire a professional photographer or anything. You can do it yourself.

Number balloons are a cute and easy option.

What’s sweeter than candy?
Your baby! Yes, candy is sweet, but your baby is sweeter. Still, you can certainly use some candy as props in your monthly baby pictures. Individually wrapped candies are easy to work with and reuse or snack on.
Get fruity with it!
Got fruit? Use it to let everyone know how old your baby is—and afterward use it to make baby food or a smoothie! It doesn't have to be fruit. It could be veggies, too. Carrots would work nicely if you set them side by side to denote the months.
Say it with pizza.
Order up your favorite pizza and use a slice to commemorate a month in your baby's life. Like you needed an excuse to order pizza. Just hurry up and take the picture before the pizza gets cold.
Are you a baker?
If you love cooking up creations in the kitchen, consider baking a number-shaped item for each month. Makes for yummy cleanup. You could get number molds or just fashion a number out of whatever baked good after the fact.
Be on diaper duty.
Use diapers to form numbers. You should have plenty around, after all. Cloth or disposable will work, and you can get creative with how you choose to use them to mark your baby's age.
Do it with onesies.
Get 12 onesies with the month number on them. You could even DIY them with some fabric markers. Then every month get your cutie in the correct onesie and snap away.
Donut forget about donuts.
Donuts are a great way to count the months. What you do with them after taking the picture is up to you. We suggest you pair them with coffee and enjoy, because there is no sense in wasting good donuts.
Look in the fridge.
Eggs are eggcellent props for baby pics. There are several variations you could do of this. You could just keep eggs in the carton with each egg standing for a month, or you could shape a number using multiple eggs.
Consider using pumpkins in the fall.
When autumn rolls around, you can take some gourd-geous pictures with pumpkins. You don't have to put your baby in the pumpkin, but it's an option. There are so many great varieties of pumpkins to choose from that you'll have tons of options on colors and sizes.
Would you like some fries with that baby?
Burger lovers can take care of dinner and baby's monthly picture at the same time. Although you better have a big family if you are going to be ordering a bunch of burgers. Fries are optional.
Go floral on floral.
Dress baby in a floral outfit that matches a floral arrangement. And remember that you can take monthly baby pictures that don't actually have the baby's age in the picture. You can take monthly baby pictures any way that you like. There are no rules.
Throw in the towel or baby blanket.
You don't need fancy props. Use your imagination. Look around your home for items you can use, like towels, baby blankets, or sheets that can be formed into the shape of a number.
Get creative with chalkboards.
A chalkboard is a blank canvas. You can do all kinds of creative things with it. You can also add in the chalk art afterward with an editing app if you don't fancy yourself a chalk artist.
Spell it out with baby.
Use your baby to help you spell out a word, like "love." You could do a different word every month. You could include your baby as part of number as well. Enjoy taking pictures of your kiddo now, because soon enough they'll be telling you they don't want to be in your pics. Sigh.
You can't go wrong with balloons.
We mentioned using number-shaped balloons earlier, but regular balloons work just as well. You can use one balloon for each month. By 12 months, you'll have a pretty large balloon bouquet going.
Get festive during the holidays.
The Easter Bunny, Santa, and all costumes are welcome during months that have holidays you celebrate. Costumes in general are cute on babies. You can dress them up as a little angel or little devil, depending on their mood.
