After days of media coverage and ongoing social media posts from her ex-fiancé, Max Ehrich, singer Demi Lovato has finally spoken up about her breakup. Well, sort of. Just two months after announcing her engagement it was revealed that the "Confident" singer and her actor fiancé, had split up, and in no time, Max was discussing their relationship and breakup on both his Instagram story and feed.

Initially, Max who is currently filming a movie while Demi works in California, said he found out that his relationship with the singer was over via a tabloid rather than from Demi herself. He took to Instagram shaming and disparaging her for how the break up went down and subsequently praised her work and talent and claiming that he will always love her, after enduring backlash from her fans, all while Demi stayed silent. Now, for the first time since their split was announced, Demi has addressed the breakup publicly and Max is claiming that she used him.
Demi released a new song on Wednesday.
News of Demi and Max's breakup leaked last Thursday and Demi made no comment whatsoever until she released a surprise song titled "Still Have Me" on Twitter the following Wednesday, alongside the caption, "Music is always there for me."
The song seems to be a statement.
The song is a powerhouse piano ballad with gospel vibes in which Demi belts out, "Everything around me shattered/ All the highs are now just lows/ But it doesn't even matter/ 'Cause I'd rather be alone/ All my love disappeared and I'm layin' right here while the silence is piercing/ And it hurts to breath/ I don't have much but at least I still have me," seeming to speak directly to her split with Max. Her fans have met the new track with an outpouring of support.
Many fans have tweeted and reposted the song.
Demi has received tons of love and support from friends and fellow celebrities since the song released, and due to the outpouring of support, she felt the need to reach out and acknowledge those who've stood by her side through the dramatic breakup.
Max is now saying she "used" him for publicity.
Max who has just a fraction of the number of Instagram followers as Demi, has continued to make public references to Demi and the breakup on his social media accounts. On Thursday, he posted an Instagram story saying, "Open your eyes. It's a calculated PR stunt, but my team is going to hate me for saying any of this."
No one's really buying it.
Although Max has received some supportive comments from family members, fans and personal friends, including his mom, who commented on one of his latest Instagram posts saying, "Your loving beautiful family and friends and team know the real you. Media is used for publicity," most people just aren't buying it.
Demi acknowledged the drama on Twitter.
On Friday morning, Demi acknowledged all the drama and how it's been affecting her, but said that she's grateful for all of the mentions she's gotten from supportive fans, saying "the support has me in literal tears."
