Selena Quintanilla’s relatives died in Hurricane Harvey tragedy

Hurricane Harvey has devastated Houston, Texas. But we had NO idea that one of the tragedies connected to the natural disaster closely affected the late singer Selena Quintanilla's family. We couldn't believe it. Abraham Quintanilla recently announced on Facebook that he has relatives that drowned during the flood and the tragic story will literally bring you to tears.

According to reports, the family is believed to have been killed after their van was swept away by floodwaters while they attempted to flee the storm. Like Abraham mentions, it was after crossing a bridge in Greens Bayou that the van became submerged by high water.

The grandchildren were all between the ages of 6 and 16 and tried getting out of the van's back door with their great grandparents but they couldn't get out of the van on time before it sank under water. Apparently the children's great uncle, who was also the driver, was the only one who managed to get out alive.

Abraham confirmed in a separate post that his immediate family was safe and that no damage had been done to Selena's museum. Apparently a lot of people had been inquiring about that.

The Hurricane Harvey situation is one of the most devastating and tragic storms to have hit the states recently. The death rate has gone up to at least 63 at this point, homes have been destroyed, and the city is a mess. It's truly sad. Our prayers and condolences go to the families of the victims, including the Quintanilla family. We can't even begin to imagine what they must be going through.
