6 Unexpected uses for coffee filters around the home

We definitely enjoy a clean house, but cleaners and cleaning supplies are very pricey. I particularly love when I learn about a new natural (cheaper) solution to clean my house. Did anybody say white vinegar, baking soda, lemon juice? You know exactly what I'm talking about. Behold the mighty coffee filters! This cloth has way more uses for the home than brewing coffee.

Coffee filters are the ideal cleaning tool because the fabric is strong, absorbs liquid well and the filters are cheap. You can buy them in bulk and replace paper towels all together because you won't be using them much after you try cleaning with filters. Your window, mirror, glass and other surfaces will be happy and your wallet will save a lot of money.

1. Better than paper towels: Coffee filters are lint-free which means they will really clean your windows without leaving residue or that foggy stain.

2. For your pet: Did you run out of wee wee pads? Don't worry! You don't have to embrace the bad weather and run to the pet store to buy and emergency bag. Coffee filters are great absorbents and you will be able to save your floor from your puppy's pee. Simple tape some of the filters together and lay it on the floor.

3. For the laundry: If you are a firm believer of dryer sheets because they leave your clothes without static and fluffy, but you hate the price of the little box, use coffee filters instead! They are pretty much made of the same material and you will enjoy the same benefits from using the sheets (minus the artificial smell) on your clothes.

4. For your plants: Do you need to repot a small indoor house plant because it's leaking? No worries, use a coffee filter. Instead of investing on a new pot, repot the plan inside the filter and put the whole thing in the old pot. The filter will stop the leak and your plant will flourish.

5. In the fridge: You can stop wasting money on fridge odor eliminators. Simply fill a coffee filter with baking soda and tie it together. Place the little bag in a corner inside the fridge to get the same benefits of the store bought product.

6. For the microwave: I hate cleaning the microwave! Most foods make a splash and I end up with a lot of sauce in impossible to get places. If you don't want a mess, but don't want to use a plastic cover either, cover your plate with a coffee filter before you nuke it to prevent messy explosions.
