I don’t know the extent of what Jennifer Lopez went through that drove her to file for divorce from Ben Affleck on August 20, but I’m sure she thought long and hard about it before calling it quits. But even if she’s done with the marriage and ready to move on, there is still the issue of their marital home. It’s been on the market for over a month and no one is buying it.

Until they sell it and presumably split the proceeds, it’s just sitting there reminding them of their failed marriage. I’m sure they both want it off their hands, but personally, I’m not surprised it’s not selling regardless of how beautiful the property is and how much money they dropped to make it even lovelier. Let me tell you why I think it's not selling.
They bought the place just a year a little over a year ago.
They paid $60 million for the 12-bedroom, 24-bathroom mega mansion. Then they poured even more money into it with renovations. When they put it on the market in July 2024, they set their asking price at $68 million.
How many people can even afford a $68 million home?
I’m thinking there just isn’t a big demand for homes that cost that much. Also, I asked Google about interest rates on mortgages right now and it told me that they are pretty high, so that could be a factor as well.
According to U.S. Bank, there has been a general slowdown in mortgage applications, which could be caused by what they describe as the “double-whammy of rising prices and elevated mortgage rates.”
Plus, this place comes with a lot of attention.
This is just speculation on my part, but maybe anyone who can actually afford to buy the place doesn’t want to because of the attention it would draw. They say there is no such thing as bad publicity, but does that apply outside the entertainment industry?
Not every wealthy person wants coverage of what home they just bought. Some like to keep their home address private and not be associated with the drama of a Hollywood relationship. Just ask Ben.
