Rumor has it that Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, aka Bad Bunny, and Kendall Jenner have been locking lips and doing things that people in romantic relationships do with each other. The rumors that these two are romantically involved started back in February with a report that they had been seen making out at a club. Since then, they appear to be spending a lot of time together. Still, they haven’t confirmed that they are a couple. Or did Bad Bunny do just that in the form of a song?
More from MamásLatinas: Kendall Jenner's lavish life
Benito collaborated on a song with Eladio Carrión that seems to confirm the dating rumors, because it sure does sound like he is shading Kendall’s ex Devin Booker. And if that weren’t enough to keep tías chismosas like myself speculating about cosas that really do not concern us, Kendall and Devin have added more fuel to the metaphorical fire. Oh, and then in an act of divine timing, an ex of Bad Bunny is suing him! So much drama. Let’s get into it!
First, let’s talk about the song Bad Bunny did with Eladio Carrión—and the lyrics!
It’s called “Coco Chanel,” and the reason people are saying that Bad Bunny is admitting to being in a romantic entanglement with Kendall is because of a verse that goes, “Yo no soy malo, nah, bebé, eso e' un gimmick / Pero el sol de PR calienta má' que el de Phoenix.” Or in English: “I’m not bad, baby, that’s a gimmick / But the Puerto Rico sun is warmer than the one in Phoenix.”
Why is that verse shady?
Because Kendall Jenner dated NBA player Devin Booker of the Phoenix Suns for a couple of years. They ended things in late 2022. That aforementioned verse seems like a direct reference to Kendall’s ex. I mean, come on!
But wait, there’s another verse to consider!
There is another verse in the song that says, “Las de escorpio son peligro,” which means that Scorpio women are dangerous. Hmm, who could possibly be a Scorpio? You guessed it: Kendall Jenner! Born on November 3, 1995, Kendall is one of those dangerous Scorpio women Bad Bunny is referring to.
And then Devin Booker clapped back!
In a since-deleted comment responding to a post about the “subliminals” directed at Devin Booker on “Coco Chanel,” Devin wrote, “He worried about another MAN again.” See! Even Devin thinks the lyrics are about him and Kendall.
And what does Kendall have to say about all of this?
Well, she hasn’t commented directly, but she posted a quote on her Instagram story that fans are taking to be a cryptic response to the feud between Bad Bunny and Devin. The quote encourages being gentle with oneself and trusting that things are unfolding as they should.
And what’s this about an ex suing Bad Bunny?
Carliz De La Cruz Hernández is suing Benito for $40 million because she alleges that her voice was used without legal authorization or credit. She says that Benito asked her to record herself saying the phrase “Bad Bunny Baby” via a phone memo app. The recording has since been used on tracks such as “Pa’ Ti” and “Dos Mil 16″ and has basically become his tagline. You can hear her voice saying it at the beginning of the video above. If her allegations are true, then pay the lady, Benito.
