Jennifer Lopez is a mom just like the rest of us. Now that schools are closed for an indefinite time and families all over the world are practicing social distancing, our kids are facing a new reality when it comes to their school–and so are the parents. The singer appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show via video call to share how things are going in her and Alex Rodriguez's household while the kids are homeschooling.

Schools were among the first establishments to shut down as people were advised to stay indoors, and parents of school-aged children have become their kids' educators. Virtual learning comes with plenty of advantages but also many challenges for both moms and their kids, and J.Lo seems to be struggling just as much as everyone else is.
J.Lo seemed just as overwhelmed as the rest of us.
J.Lo and her fiancé, Alex Rodriguez, are isolated together with their four kids. The singer has been in charge of looking after her twins, Max and Emme, and their schoolwork, and she candidly shared that it hasn't been so easy for her, either. She mentioned that the schoolwork is different from what it was in the past, and she has to Google things herself before helping her kids. "Honestly, I think we're all like, 'What is this?' Have you see the math they make the kids do now? It's a new math," she said. "It's been an experience, for sure."
They're getting their physical education from Alex.
Alex would have made for a great coach or PE teacher! A-Rod shared this video of them playing outside with their kids. Alex's daughters are a bit older, but he is in charge of helping them with school and also makes sure they get some recreation time outdoors in between their study sessions.
This isn't the first time J.Lo has been involved with her kids' school.
She might just be one of the busiest women in the world, but she always finds the time to be there for her twins. Even when she was preparing for one of the biggest moments in her career when she co-headlined the Super Bowl halftime show earlier this year, J.Lo took some time to rest and do homework with her babies. "Break from rehearsal for homework and snuggle time," she captioned this cute pic of herself with her babies.
Teachers and parents alike are adjusting to this new normal.
Parents are now feeling that much more gratitude for the work their children's teachers do day in and day out. Getting accustomed to online learning for your kids while also dealing with your own work responsibilities and chores around the house is not easy. It won't last forever, but this will make us all that much more appreciative of our regular lives before isolation.
