Here is Schulz when she was 24 weeks pregnant. Now she's a mom to a beautiful girl named Lexington Schulz, who she welcomed in April. The fit mom says that she was told she had a "massive bump" by so many people.
She wrote in part:
"I was so fed up, even when I had tried on this dress and the shop assistant said, 'Holy moly! My friend is 36 weeks and you're only 24 weeks and you're WAY bigger than her!' She repeated this to the lady in the next changing room to me. I cried while I tried the dress on. I got it everywhere I went and it did make me want to hide away."
It's tough to deal with weight comments while you're pregnant. I've been there. While I was pregnant with my son last year, I learned that one of my fibroids had more than doubled in size.
When I was just 5 months pregnant, I looked like I was carrying twins and so many people felt comfortable telling me just how huge I looked. Pregnancy is hard enough without people making you feel down about yourself. I think most people don't do it intentionally, they just don't know any better.
I'm glad women like Schulz speak up. Her advice? "Here's a tip, don't mention the size of a bump…Just say something like 'you look beautiful/ healthy/ amazing!'" Yes, because that's the damn truth.
