Play music

The sound of music may be more benefical to your baby than you think. A 2016 study by the University of Washington found that music increases brain activity in babies. "Our study is the first in young babies to suggest that experiencing a rhythmic pattern in music can also improve the ability to detect and make predictions about rhythmic patterns in speech," said researcher Christina Zhao to NBC News.
Nap routine

A nap routine allows for your baby's brain development to continue at a healthy rate. Stay consistent with your sleep schedule so you and your baby can rest easy.
Reading time

Adding reading time to your routine will encourage your baby to fall in love with the activity later in life. Babies will absorb your voice along with the images on the page as early as 4 months of age.
Tapping into curiosity

Babies are natural learners and their curiosity helps them do just that. Create a productive play space that allows them to touch, think and move.
Playing and socializing

Playtime with other children spark communication skills and allows for their fine motor skills to develop. Building blocks and educational toys are key.
Healthy diet

Starting your baby on a healthy diet early on will also have a positive impact on brain development. These super fruits and veggies will help and are easy to make!
Praising them

Positive reinforcement will allow for you baby to feel secure and loved. This also helps plant the seed to language development and emotional growth.
Face time is key

It's not enough to simply sit your child in front of an electronic device or television. Actual face time is most important since your baby is still learning so much from your bonding time.
Talking and more talking

Be a chatterbox! An article in Literacy Trust explains, "Think of a baby’s brain as a forest with many trails going through the thick brush. Like a baby’s brain pathways, the trails that are frequently travelled are always ready for passage and remain ready forever."
Encourage movement

Your child may spend a lot of time in a stroller, swing or other device that restrains movement. Make sure they're able to move around and get plenty of belly time. Babies need stumili around them to encourage brain activity.
