California mom gives birth to HUGE, record-breaking baby! (VIDEO)

A California woman recently broke a new record by giving birth to the biggest baby ever to be born in the state!

Latina mom Vanessa Cervantez's new little (or to be more accurate, not-so-little) guy, Andrew Jacob, was born at a whopping 15 pounds, 2 ounces. To put that into perspective, most newborns weigh an average of around 7 pounds. Wow, that's one BIG baby boy!

Cervantez was 38 weeks along when she went to the hospital last week for a routine check up. During the examination, doctors discovered decreased fetal movement and made the decision to conduct the surgery that same day. The mom says she expected the child to be big since her two previous kids were on the larger side, at 10 pounds, 10 ounces and 9 pounds, 14 ounces. But she never thought he would reach 15 pounds!

"I couldn't even believe it," she told the Victorville Daily Press. "They had to double check because I didn't believe them; I thought the machine was broken."

After experiencing some trouble breathing on his own, Andrew was sent to a children's hospital immediately following his birth to be monitored. But Cervantez says doctors are still astounded at the baby's size, telling her they thought it was the largest baby they had ever delivered at the hospital.

C-section or not, that's a whole lot of baby! I have to give this mom some credit, especially considering this is the third child that's managed to tip the scales at a heavier weight. I only hope that Andrew gets well soon so that mother and son can be reunited again as quickly as possible. Congrats to Cervantez and her family!
