I don't know if you remember a really unusual case that came to light in mid-December about a Brazilian woman who got a C-section only to be told there was no baby because she wasn't pregnant. Well, it turns out that Claudia Aparecida Lopes is now claiming that she, in fact, was expecting her third baby, has ways to prove it and, what's even more unbelievable, she's claiming her newborn was stolen before she woke up from the surgery.

Meanwhile, the doctors who cared for Claudia have said hers was an imagined or phantom pregnancy. Police have launched an investigation into this very strange case.
Jose Tomaz de Oliveira, the baby's father, said they have the ultrasound pictures where you can see the baby and that his wife's pregnancy was confirmed by a doctor who even revealed they were having a baby boy.
What a crazy story!
The part I cannot understand is how doctors performed a C-section–a major surgery–on this woman without making sure she was truly pregnant. I mean, can one just go to a hospital and get a C-section just because you swear you're pregnant? Sounds super fishy to me! But, then again, I guess ANYTHING is possible these days!
The investigation will take at least one month and if they find this poor mother's baby was stolen they better give him back to her right away. But if what the hospital claims really happened is true, this sick mother is in obvious need of some serious psychological help!
