Everyone needs to stop hating on Caroline Berg Eriksen, the Norwegian football player's wife that's received a lot of slack for the post-pregnancy body selfie she recently posted on Instagram. The new mom caused outrage after posting a picture of herself in underwear, showing off her flat-as-a-board stomach and toned thighs–just four days after giving birth! Yes, FOUR days!
Don't get me wrong, I get why this would piss women off. The truth is most of us would NEVER look like this days after pregnancy. I wouldn't even look like this months after. But even so, is it really fair to give this woman crap just because she happens to have an amazing body?

Caroline, who recently gave birth to her daughter Nelia, has received every insult you could imagine ever since posting that selfie. The new mom is married to Premier League football player Lars Kristian Eriksen also works as a fitness and health blogger. I would be lying if I said I wasn't totally hating on the snap of her post-pregnancy abs. But on the same note, I can't help but be impressed by how fit she is.
Some of the comments people left her were just mean. One woman, writer Suzanna Aabel even went as far as claiming that she wasn't sure if Caroline and her "belonged to the same species." She continued: "In my eyes, this picture is wildly provocative. Not just because I'm the chubby girl who's envious of her petite figure, but because I began to despise my own body when I was about twelve."
Caroline fired back saying: "I let out the picture because I'm proud of myself and my body for something as tough as pregnancy/birth, and think all mothers, regardless of the body shall be."
Obviously a photo like this is going to trigger a lot of negative response, because other moms feel like it puts pressure on them to look the same but that shouldn't be the case. We should all just embrace the beautiful bodies we were blessed with. Also, we should all realize that this may not be a picture of Eriksen post-baby, who knows. Many out there find it scientifically impossible to be that toned and muscular four days after giving birth. But honestly let's just use it as inspiration to get a belly that toned–baby or no–and remember to celebrate our bodies!
