When Orna and Jay realized that the only way they would become parents would be through adoption, they never imagined the process would be so long. The couple finally got their wish two years ago when they adopted little Ben. Now, they're hoping to give him a sibling. Facebook: There are many a successful and heartbreaking stories about couples looking to adopt on the social media site. They usually create a specific Facebook page with links to their website with more information. Facebook works because of its networking power. In fact, that's exactly how an Ohio couple was recently able to adopt a child.
Craigslist: If you've ever used the online marketplace, you know you can pretty much anything you're looking for there… apparently, you can even find babies. According to a recent story by ABC News, several couples have been able to adopt successfully using Craigslist.
Game show: Believe it or not, a game show host in Pakistan gives away abandoned babies as prizes. I know it sounds crazy, but it turns out that the parents who "win" the babies are actually already working with an adoption agency.
Family member: This may not be as crazy as the others, but some people end up adopting their sibling's child or their own grandchildren. In most cases, it's not so much that they've been looking to adopt, but their family member ends up pregnant and doesn't want the child, so they end up adopting them. I think that's incredibly honorable.
