
Without discipline and rules, schools would be running wild with misbehaving children. Understandably, some of those rules make sense and are necessary, but what about ridiculous rules such as having female students undergo virginity tests? That is what was ALMOST required of Indonesian girls entering their senior year of high school on Sumatra Island.
The proposal was brought forward by Muhammad Rasyid, the head of the education office, to prevent girls from engaging in premarital sex and prevent prostitution. However, Indonesian officials shot down the idea claiming that it violated human rights and was discriminatory. Thank god!

The Huffington Post reports that Rasyid is adamant about his law and says that it would protect children from prostitution and "free sex." Many other officials are against it and say that children should be cared for instead of judged and that the budget money could be placed towards more useful things.That's for sure!

Cutting hair for drug tests

A Kansas City private high school was forcing its students to cut strands of their hair to test for drugs. Those students who tested positive for drugs such as marijuana and cocaine. If they tested positive for any of these substances, they were expected to have 90-days to get drug free.
Sign out toilet paper

High school students in a Pennsylvania town were expected to sign out toilet paper after too many students misused it. According to the principal students were vandalizing the bathrooms with the t-p and it needed to stop, even though parents and their kids alike were not happy.
Forced pregnancy tests

A charter school in Louisiana is requiring its female students to take pregnancy tests and aren't taking excuses. The school expects students whom they suspect are pregnant to take the tests and if they refuse to they are expelled and forced to be home schooled.
Students must wear school uniform at all times

Many (not all) Japanese schools require students to wear their uniform on and off campus. this is because students are expected to represent their schools and honor them.
Girl's can't curse

A Catholic school in New Jersey decided that girl's shouldn't curse because they want the "ladies to act like ladies." The sexist demands were not taken well by students which also told the boys to tone their vulgarities down around girls.
