Toddler playing Spider-Man jumps out 3rd floor window & miraculously survives!

My brother used to think he was Superman when he was little. He would tie a towel around his neck and jump from one bed to the other pretending to fly. Fortunately, he never got hurt. A 3-year-old boy playing Spider-Man last weekend wasn't so lucky.

The little boy had been playing with another child, jumping on a bed right next to a window in an Anaheim, California apartment. Somehow, the kid managed to knock off the screen and fall out the third-floor window. He landed on a planter and police believe his fall was broken by bushes and dirt because despite being found bleeding from the head, he sustained minor injuries.

This story hit home not only because like this boy, my son is about to turn 4, but also because my son loves to pretend he's Spider-Man too. I've lost count of the times I've had to tell him that he can play Spider-Man all he wants, but that he has to remember he doesn't have the same super powers.

I hate to be the one to destroy his fantasies, but he's a climber and I've caught him attempting some crazy stunts that could have very easily ended up in disaster. I can't imagine the horror this little boy's mom must have felt when she realized what had happened to her son. I'm sure she's counting her lucky stars and I know that his birthday celebration later this week will be more special than all the others.
