Jennie Rubinshteyn and Yaroslav Faybishenko have a baby daughter, and as parents of an infant, you can imagine how much time they have spent dealing with diapers. So, the husband and wife team invented * Smart Diapers*. Yup, they are smarter than your average diaper.
What the couple has done is taken a regular diaper and added a panel that works in conjunction with an app on your smart phone and provides you with data on your baby's urine. It's only meant to be used once a day and would track patterns with the idea being that it would warn you only if something was amiss due to something like a urinary tract infection, dehydration, or a developing kindney issue.

The diapers are still in the testing stages and being developed by the couple's company Pixie Scientific so don't run out to your local store to try and buy them just yet.
The thing is, you will probably NEVER need to buy them. In my humble opinion, this is the kind of product that most parents wouldn't exactly deem a neccesity. I do, however, see this as an extremely useful tool in certain cases because it will only alert you when something is outside of the normal for your child.
I have a little girl that was born with only one kidney. It is very important that she not get urinary tract infections and if she does that they be treated quickly so as not to spread. Infants can not tell you if they have a urinary tract infection, all they can do is cry and hope that you figure it out. This type of diaper would certainly be useful for little one-kidney wonders like my own and I can imagine it would be great for babies with other health concerns.
