Coffee-loving couple enlists local Starbucks for help choosing baby’s name

Picking a name for your child can be extremely difficult–which is why 25-year-old Jennifer James and 24-year-old Mark Dixon decided to let other people decide for them!

The Connecticut couple, who is welcoming a baby boy in September, was __trying to choose between either Jackson or Logan for their son's first nam__e, but couldn't come to a final decision. So the two, who are regulars at a local Starbucks and even know many of the staffers by name, decided to turn to the coffee shop's customers for help.

Taking inspiration from that particular Starbucks' employee of the month customer voting system, they pasted little blue hands and feet all over a coffee cup and placed it on the store's counter, next to a framed sign that read "Help us choose our son's (first) name, Jackson or Logan." Ha! Well, that's certainly a creative way of making the decision.

Every few days, they counted the "ballots," eventually receiving nearly 1800 votes. Wow!  So which name was the winner, by around 400 to 500 votes according to Dixon? Logan! Jackson will now reportedly be little Logan's middle name.

The couple has saved most of the scraps of voting to be saved in a baby scrapbook.

Honestly, I don't know if I could ever let other people–especially strangers–choose a name for my baby. I think too many opinions would only overwhelm me further! Still, I have to give this couple points for originality. First of all, I too am a Starbucks addict (the employees at the one closest to my job know my name), so I find it hilarious that they went to them for help. But I also like how the couple didn't leave the choosing process completely up in the air. I can only imagine the crazy suggestions they would've received if they had!

Instead though, they decided on the two names they really liked ahead of time and basically just used the "voting" as a fun and funny tiebreaker…and hey, it'll be an awesome story to tell little Logan one day!
