Amazing Mexican mamá gives birth to sextuplets 12 years after having quadruplets!

Normally if a woman has a set of twins or triplets even, she will go through the experience once. But that wasn't the case for a Mexican woman who gave birth to quadruplets 12 years ago, and she recently gave birth to sextuplets! The sextuplet babies were delivered at only 27 weeks into her pregnancy at a women's hospital in Morelia, Mexico. They weighed only about 1.25 lbs. to 2 lbs. each, and are said to measure about 12 inches.

While most parents are aware of just about everything about the babies they're expecting, the couple, 31-year-old Salud Romero and the father, 21-year-old Joshua Salinas, surprisingly didn't even know about the sixth child!

Sheesh, 4 kids at one time and now 6 only 12 years later?! That's definitely a lot for one body to handle. This poor woman has a lot on her plate now as she and the father of the children have to cope not just with their premature births, but with financial issues as well.

According to the U.K. Daily Mail, their neo-natal specialist at the hospital, Dr. Rosalba Martinez, says the babies are in intensive care since they were born so premature, and their survival outlook is not good. But she claims the women's hospital has the staff and means to try and save their lives.

Salud had to deliver the babies early on because she was suffering from anemia and internal bleeding. The mamá now worries about her children's health and her partner worries that it's going to be costly to maintain them under treatment as he only makes about $100 to $150 dollars a week as a laborer. (The sextuplets are her current partner's, her quadruplets are from a previous relationship, and between the quads and the sextuplets, the couple had another child.)

Their births came so suddenly for the family that they hadn't even thought up names for their newborns! But Salinas says that he and Salud would discuss this topic once the babies are out of harm and discharged from the hospital. Having sextuplets is so rare, that the last recorded delivery of the set of babies dates back to 2008 when a mom from Queens, New York had her own.

We hope Salud and Joshua do not experience any more complications with their babies because it sounds like they're going through enough as it is. Hopefully with the hospital's proper care, the babies will be nursed to health and will be able to live healthfully like other infants.
