After Jessica Simpson lost all her baby weight, I had to give her props–losing 60 pounds in 6 months is no easy feat for any working mom. But now, reports are saying that only seven seconds (okay, okay, months) after giving birth to her daughter and just days after seemingly regaining her pre-baby bod, Simpson is pregnant AGAIN. Huh?!! Well, that is definitely unexpected.
According to Us Weekly, the 32-year-old mom is just as surprised as the rest of us, as the pregnancy was unplanned. Though Simpson herself has not yet confirmed the news, she is reportedly thrilled about it, despite all of the months of criticism and pressure she faced during and after her first pregnancy.
Wow! I have to say I am really surprised. If it's true, I'm glad that she's happy and that her and her fiancée, Eric Johnson, are obviously having no problems starting their family. But, part of me also can't help but think… WTF?! Maybe it's because her actual pregnancy felt interminably long, but I swear it seems as if little Maxwell was born, like, a minute ago. Is it just me?!

I know for a fact that when I decide I want a second baby after being lucky enough to have a first one, I will take a good, long while to make sure I am good and ready. In fact, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't even be thinking about getting busy in the bedroom again for at least a few months…and definitely not without birth control!
Why? It's not just that being a mom to two very young kids so close in age while working is difficult, although it is. It's also about giving your body the time to heal and yourself the time to settle into mommy mode–and that's for normal, everyday mothers. As a celeb, Simpson faces even more pressure as she experiences everything in the public eye…and to add to that, she in particular also just happens to be one of the most scrutinized women in Hollywood ever. Remember all the hate she got the first time around?
Still, I guess in the end, what really matters is that she, her daughter, and any future babies are healthy and happy. If she truly is expecting, I just hope that the transition back into pregnancy is smooth…and that afterwards, she takes her sweet time even considering having a third child! Congrats, Jessica!
