After denying their romance through several routes, while romantic pictures of them hugging and cuddling flooded the pages of some show business magazines, finally a few months ago actors Jencarlos Canela and Gaby Espino confirmed what everybody already knew: they were in love.
What came as a little surprise was their announcement that they were expecting a baby, whom they will call Nicolás and who will be born in the next days.
However, over and above whether they confirmed the romance, what matters here is that those who were the protagonist of the telenovela “Más sabe el diablo” (Telemundo) have established a family and that the actor seems to be setting an example of what psychologists call reconstituted families. Canela gets along marvelously with little Oriana, the 3-year old daughter Gaby Espino conceived with her ex husband, the also actor Cristóbal Lander.
"I am already a dad. Our life is filled with the joy of having a 3-year old little girl who is like a daughter to me. There will be no differences between Oriana and Nicolás”, said the actor.
Jencarlos Canela declared to the media that he feels he has already experienced parenthood with little Oriana. "With her I have practiced changing diapers, the late nights, bottle-feeding, reading little stories, taking her to school. I’ve had lots of practice", he stated.
Among the first things Canela wants to share with his son is to make him trilingual. "At home we will speak Spanish and French and he will learn English at school. I’m taking French lessons. We travel a lot and if I have to work a season in Europe I would like it to be in France, and so he could end up having friends there. French is a language that is spoken in many places,” the also singer stated.
At this point we too have to applaud the young actor. Speaking to little Nicolás in three languages not only will help him maintain his Latin roots, teaching him another language will also give him more tools for life. So, up to now, little Nicolás, besides having gorgeous and famous parents, also seems to have superparents, interested in his education and in him, as well as little Oriana, growing up in a healthy family environment.
Growing a family is not easy. Even though divorce should not equal a life sentence of loneliness, we have to give every family member the best possible environment, especially if there are small children at home, just as Canela and Espino seem to be doing.
