Kylie Jenner has been completely silent on social media and nowhere to be found in public since the tragic events at partner Travis Scott's Astroworld Festival on Friday, November 5, 2021, which resulted in the deaths of 10 people, including multiple children. The Kylie Cosmetics founder did make a public statement on her Instagram story the day of the incident, but that, of course, disappeared within 24 hours after posting.
More from MamásLatinas: Everything about Travis Scott’s Astroworld Festival, where 8 people died
Kylie, who shares a 3-year-old daughter with the rapper and music festival organizer and is currently expecting her second child with him, has not posted on social media since November 4, the day before the incident, leading many fans and followers to call her out on her silence and threaten to boycott her and her cosmetics line.
Kylie is apparently living with Travis Scott.
Kylie has reportedly been living with Travis Scott at his mansion in Houston, Texas, as they await the arrival of their second child. Reports indicate that the two have been together since the Astroworld tragedy.
Kylie did post on her Instagram story.
Kylie was in attendance at the Astroworld Festival and posted live on her Instagram story during the event. After it became clear that people were harmed, she wrote, "Travis and I are broken and devastated. My thoughts and prayers are with all who lost their lives, were injured or affected in any way by yesterday's events. And also for Travis who I know cares deeply for his fans and the Houston community," according to The Sun, but later she deleted many of the posts that she'd made during the event.
Kylie has been called 'insensitive.'
Kylie has received a lot of backlash in the days since the tragedy at the festival, due to the fact that evidence of the chaos, including the appearance of ambulances, could be seen in some of the posts she made on her Instagram story. The beauty mogul is being accused of handling it poorly, and many are calling for Kylie to be canceled and boycotted.
Sources are saying Kylie and mom Kris Jenner are in 'crisis mode.'
"Kylie feels the weight of this and more than anything wants to do right by the victims," a source told The Sun. "She feels like she's in a lose-lose situation because she wants to take time to respect the victims from Astroworld but at the same time, she employs a lot of people," the source continued, indicating that she and her mom and manager, Kris Jenner, are in "crisis mode" as they attempt to navigate the backlash.
She may lose millions.
A source told The Sun that every day that Kylie remains silent on social media, her brands stand to lose millions of dollars, but Kylie isn't really sure how to proceed.
"She feels a responsibility as a brand founder but she also knows the second they do post something business related, people will be upset she's 'moved on' and doing self-promotion after this tragedy," the source said.
Kylie's camp says that's not true.
However, The Sun says one of Kylie's reps responded to its source's information by saying, point blank, "Your information is incorrect." The media outlet says that Kylie typically makes upward of $1 million per post on her Instagram page, and considering she hasn't posted in 12 days, that would mean a significant loss.
Is it baby-related?
Kylie has not indicated to the public when her baby is due, so it's also a possibility that—though it would be quite a coincidence—she's been quiet on social because she's either given birth or having a pregnancy-related issue. One thing's for sure: A lot of eyes will be watching to see if and when she resurfaces.
