Tom Brady says Netflix roast jokes about his exes ‘affected my kids,’ wouldn’t do it again

Tom Brady is the indisputable greatest of all time when it comes to NFL quarterbacks. Likewise, his recent Netflix roast was one for the ages. But unfortunately, Tom recently admitted that comedic jabs aimed at his exes, Gisele Bündchen and Bridget Moynahan, 'affected my kids.'

As a refresher, Tom is a father of three. He shares a son, Jack, 16, with Bridget. (She learned she was pregnant shortly after they broke up in 2006.) He shares Benjamin, 14, and Vivian, 11, with Gisele. Tom and Gisele divorced in 2022 after 13 years of marriage.

Tom Brady confessed that some of the Netflix roast jokes 'affected my kids.'

During an appearance on The Pivot Podcast, Brady reflected on Netflix's The Roast of Tom Brady which aired on May 5. "I loved when the jokes were about me. I thought they were so fun," he admitted. "I didn't like the way that it affected my kids."

The retired New England Patriots quarterback also confessed he wouldn't do it again.

Tom elaborated on the experience during his chat with Ryan Clark, Fred Taylor, and Channing Crowder. He explained: "It's the hardest part about…like the bittersweet aspect of when you do something that you think is one way and then all the sudden you realize I wouldn't do that again because of the way that it affected actually the people that I care about the most in the world."

Nikki Glaser made several digs at Tom's past relationships, including his divorce from Gisele.

Comedian Nikki Glaser wasn't afraid to "go there" when it came to joking about Tom's failed relationships during the roast. "You have seven rings," she said, referring to Tom's Super Bowl rings, before correcting herself, "Well, eight now that Gisele gave hers back, but…"

Later, Nikki added: "Do you guys know about his diet program that is so strict? But if you follow it exactly as he does, you too can lose your family."

Additionally, Nikki joked about Tom and Bridget.

Nikki didn't just bring Tom's ex-wife into the roast, she also targeted his relationship with the mother of his eldest child. "You retired and then you came back and then you retired again. I mean, I get it," Nikki said during the Netflix roast. "It's hard to walk away from something that's not your pregnant girlfriend. It's tough."

Gisele was reportedly disappointed that Tom 'once again' put football over family.

Tom defending Patriots owner Robert Kraft during the comedy special reportedly confirmed that football is the most important thing to the GOAT, a source told the publication. Because Tom did not do the same when folks took aim at his past relationships and kids.

Notably, Tom shut down a joke about the Patriots owner.

When comedian Jeff Ross joked about Robert being accused of paying for sex at a spa in Jupiter, Florida, in 2019, Tom stepped in to shut it down. "On the first day of training camp, that scrawny rookie famously walked into the owner Robert Kraft's office and said, 'I'm the best decision your organization has ever made,'" Jeff said. "'Would you like a massage?'"

Tom proceeded to get out of his chair and demand, "Don't say that s— again."
