Gisele Bündchen upset Tom Brady put football over family ‘once again’ in Netflix roast

On May 5, athletes, comedians, and celebrities gathered for Netflix's The Greatest Roast of All Time: Tom Brady. The seven-time Super Bowl champ sat in a room while person after person proceeded to joke about his career and personal life. And yes, they came for Tom Brady's failed marriage with model Gisele Bündchen.

As a refresher, Tom and Gisele were married from 2009 to 2022. The former quarterback played for the New England Patriots for most of his NFL career before switching to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for his final three seasons. He officially retired twice, once in 2022 and a second time in 2023. But his decision to return to the gridiron came at a cost—in October 2022, Tom and Gisele announced their divorce.

Gisele is reportedly disappointed that Tom Brady 'once again' put football above family.

Gisele is reportedly hurt because her ex-husband, Tom, “once again put football before his family” during his Netflix roast, Page Six reported. A source told the publication that Tom defending Patriots owner Robert Kraft during the comedy special served as proof to the model that football is the most important thing in his life. Because the retired quarterback just sat back and laughed when people joked about him abandoning his family.

During the roast, Tom shut down a joke about Robert Kraft.

Comedian Jeff Ross took aim at the New England Patriots owner during his roast of Tom. Specifically, he joked about the billionaire being accused of paying for sex at a spa in Jupiter, Florida, in 2019. (The charges were ultimately dropped.)

"On the first day of training camp, that scrawny rookie famously walked into the owner Robert Kraft's office and said, 'I'm the best decision your organization has ever made,'" Jeff said. "'Would you like a massage'?"

This prompted Tom to walk over to Jeff and tell him, "Don't say that s— again."

Meanwhile, Nikki Glaser made multiple jokes about Tom's failed relationships—and he let them slide.

During her portion of the roast, Nikki Glaser made jokes about Tom's failed relationships, including his divorce from Gisele. "You have seven rings," she pointed out before correcting herself, "Well, eight now that Gisele gave hers back, but…"

Unlike with Ross' joke, Tom did not leave his seat and tell Nikki to stop.

She dragged Tom for leaving his family, too.

Nikki's jokes about Tom choosing football over family didn't stop there.

"You retired and then you came back and then you retired again. I mean, I get it," she continued. "It's hard to walk away from something that's not your pregnant girlfriend. It's tough."

She later added: "Do you guys know about his diet program that is so strict? But if you follow it exactly as he does, you too can lose your family."

Additionally, Nikki roasted Tom about Gisele's new boyfriend, Joaquim Valente.

Nikki also poked fun at the fact that Gisele is dating her jujitsu instructor, Joaquim Valente.

"The only thing dumber than saying yes to this roast is when you said 'Hey, babe, you should try jujitsu.' That's gotta suck. Just knowing your ex-wife's new boyfriend can beat your a– while eating hers. That's gotta be terrible."

Reportedly, only one topic was off-limits during the Netflix roast.

Reportedly, one topic was off the table for Tom's roast. A source close to the Netflix production team told Page Six that the NFL star's kids were off-limits. So at least the comedians didn't go there with their low blows.
