On January 7, 2025, wildfires started raging near Los Angeles, California—and they continued to burn two weeks later. More than 40,000 acres have gone up in smoke so far, with tens of thousands of residents displaced and at least 27 people dead. Amid the utter devastation, many Latino celebrities have donated money or volunteered their time to help those affected by the wildfires.

By January 20, the Palisades Fire was 46% contained, and the Eaton Fire was 81% contained, according to Cal Fire. Celebrities and regular folks alike have lost everything in the blazes, and entire communities have been wiped out. Here’s a closer look at what Latino celebrities have offered their help as the wildfires raged on.

On January 16, Selena Gomez and her fiancé Benny Blanco posted photos on their Instagram Stories of them volunteering amid the LA wildfires, People reported. They helped hand out food to first responders battling the blaze.
“Grateful for these individuals,” Selena wrote.
“We are doing more drops !!! any companies that want to donate pls dm me !!!” Benny captioned one of his segments. “Thank you again to all the companies that showed up.”
A video circulating on social media also showed them unboxing packages and handing out food.
Eva Longoria donated $50K.
On January 11, Eva announced in an Instagram video that she donated $50,000 to This Is About Humanity to help families and frontline workers during the California wildfires.
“It’s been a crazy week,” she said in the clip. “Devastating for so many people, so many friends who’ve lost a lot … Memories and things that people have worked really hard for.”
Eva added, “We’ve donated clothes, I literally emptied out my pantry to take down to all of the places that are accepting donations.”
On top of her personal donation, the Latina actress donated $1 million through her foundation to the Latino Community Fund and California Community Foundation, Deadline reported.
Jessica Alba packed fire relief hygiene kits for kids.
On January 15, Jessica Alba took to Instagram with photos from volunteering with Baby2Baby. (She is a founding board member for the nonprofit.)
“Yesterday, I had the privilege of spending the afternoon at @baby2baby with so many beautiful souls, packing fire relief hygiene kits for children,” she captioned her update. “This Friday, 750 kits will be distributed to kids who have either been evacuated or lost their homes in the Altadena fire.”
Jennifer Lopez donated clothing to victims.

“She took clothes from her own closet and from her huge storage unit, packed them in boxes, and put them on a truck,” a source told the Daily Mail.
“It was a huge amount of stuff and is worth a fortune,” the unnamed insider added. “There is a lot of comfortable clothes like hoodies and jeans, just everyday stuff to get people back on their feet.”
Vanessa Bryant also packed hygiene kits.
Like Jessica, Vanessa Bryant volunteered her time to help Baby2Baby pack hygiene items for displaced families. The wife of the late Kobe Bryant did so through their Mamba & Mambacita Sports Foundation.
“Kob and I used to live in the Palisades when we first got married (sadly, that home was on the street where the initial fire started 💔),” Vanessa wrote on Instagram on January 14. “We have so many beautiful memories from living in L.A. There are no words to make all the loss and devastation any better.”
She added, “My heart and prayers go out to everyone in LA who are affected by the fires. Our @mambamambacitasports is currently working to help the L.A. community. We love you, L.A. #LASTRONG #We❤️LA ! We Love you @baby2baby ! ❤️.”
Demi Lovato pitched in with Baby2Baby, too.
In addition to Jessica and Vanessa, Demi Lovato was another Latina celebrity who volunteered with Baby2Baby to help LA wildfire victims, People reported.
The former Disney star also encouraged her Instagram followers to consider donating to organizations providing relief.
“It has been such a heartbreaking past few days here,” Demi wrote on January 9. “Thank you to all who have checked in – I am fortunate that I am currently safe at home with my family and dogs, but my heart and prayers are with everyone who has been displaced and has lost so much in these fires.”
After thanking firefighters, restaurants, and organizations offering meals and essentials to victims, she posted ways fans could get involved.
“Doing my part to share resources and lists of evacuation shelters for humans and animals in need, along with ways to give back for those who are eager to help,” Demi concluded. “I love you LA ❤️.”
