Selena Gomez is officially engaged to her boyfriend Benny Blanco! The Only Murders in the Building star announced the news after she and the music producer/songwriter had been dating for roughly a year. And their friends and fans were over the moon for the newly engaged couple.

To recap, Selena, 32, and Benny, 36, reportedly started dating in mid-2023. They waited until December to go Instagram “official.” Benny and Selena have slowly posted more photos and shared more insight into their relationship since then. And now, they’re preparing to say, “I do.”
Selena Gomez announced her engagement to Benny Blanco on social media.
On December 11, Selena revealed via Instagram that she and Benny are engaged. “forever begins now..,” she captioned her update, which featured her hand with a diamond ring on *that* finger. In the snap, she displayed a ring with a marquise-shaped center diamond with smaller diamonds comprising the band.
It looks like they had a Taco Bell picnic.
As of writing, neither Selena nor Benny has shared the details of the proposal. The second photo of her Instagram carousel, however, showed Selena sitting on a blanket in a grassy area with a picnic basket next to her. She looked down at her hand, presumably at the engagement ring, with Taco Bell food packaging not far away from her.
In another photo, Selena smiled while flashing her engagement ring.
The third image offered another look at Selena’s engagement ring. In the picture, the newly engaged woman could hardly contain her excitement as she smiled while showing off the dazzling piece of jewelry. It’s clear Selena was overjoyed by Benny’s proposal.
They took a photo together, too.
In Selena’s fourth and final photo, Selena and Benny posed in a room with pink doors and shelving and pink carpet. Benny wrapped his arms around his fiancée in a loving embrace while kissing her head as they sat on the floor. Meanwhile, Selena posed with her eyes closed while smiling and flashing her ring to the camera.
In the comments, Selena's friends and followers were thrilled for them.

One of Selena’s BFFs, Taylor Swift, declared, “yes I will be the flower girl.”
In another comment, Cardi B exclaimed, “Waiiiitttt hold on 😱😱😱😱😱❤️❤️❤️.”
Actress Suki Waterhouse wrote, “Congratulations beauty!” while the official Hulu account shared, “we’re crying 🥹💚.”
Stephen Colbert recently asked Selena what Benny's 'intentions' are in their relationship.
During an appearance on The Late Show, host Stephen Colbert asked Selena about her and Benny’s Thanksgiving when he suddenly asked, “If you don’t mind me asking, where is this relationship going?”
A taken-aback Selena replied, “Woah. I thought you were going to ask where was this picture taken.”
After a moment, she added, “You know what, I’m not sure, but I’m having a great time.”
That’s when Stephen turned to the camera to address Selena’s boyfriend directly. “Benny, you must think you’re pretty special if you think you can do better than this, OK?” he joked. “And as America’s dad, I want to know what your intentions are with America’s daughter right over here.”
Clearly, the heart-to-heart with Stephen worked. Congrats to Selena and Benny on their engagement!
