In the aftermath of NBA player Tristan Thompson's most recent cheating scandal, he is being sued for child support by personal trainer Maralee Nichols, who claims that he is the father of her newborn baby. Tristan's affair with Maralee, is evidently one of the issues that led to his latest breakup with reality TV star Khloé Kardashian, whom he shares a 3-year-old daughter with, in addition to the son he shares with another ex, Jordan Craig.

Tristan and Maralee reportedly hooked up in March 2021, while the basketball player was celebrating his birthday in Houston, and he and Khloé were still a couple, having recently gotten back together toward the end of 2020. Tristan has admitted to having sex with Maralee in a legal filing. Here's everything we know about Tristan and Maralee's situation so far:
Multiple cheating allegations surfaced in early 2021.
Early in 2021, cheating allegations against Tristan, involving multiple women surfaced, just a few months after Tristan and Khloé had gotten back together. Instagram model, Sydney Chase claimed to have slept with him, then Kimberly Alexander said that Tristan was the father of her baby, which DNA tests proved to be false. That's not to mention Maralee, whom he slept with in March.
Tristan and Maralee met in Houston.
Tristan and Maralee evidently met for the first time in March when the Sacramento Kings player was in Maralee's hometown, Houston, celebrating his birthday. According to the Daily Mail, Tristan claims they had a one-night stand.
She spent the night in his hotel room.
According to Tristan's legal filing, the two were at a party together, had some drinks (but didn't get drunk) and left the party together. He says they went back to his hotel room, where they had sex more than once and Maralee stayed the night.
Khloé gushed about Tristan right around the same time.
On Tristan's birthday, Khloé wrote an admiration post honoring him on Instagram. "The ones that are meant to be are the ones who go through everything that is designed to tear them apart and they come out even stronger than they were before. Thank you for showing me everything you said you would. For the father you are. For the best friend I have in you. I'm thankful that I can do absolutely nothing with you and it feels like everything. I hope you know today and every day, how loved you are by me and so many," she captioned a photo of them and their daughter, True.
Maralee claims they were seeing each other for much longer though.
Maralee's attorney has said that she was seeing Tristan for at "least five months," before his birthday, and that they continued to see each other for some time after that occasion.
Maralee has now moved to California.
Despite having told Tristan that her "entire life was in Texas," Maralee has moved to Los Angeles since finding out she was pregnant, and has reportedly been pursuing a career in real estate.
Maralee sued Tristan ahead of her due date.
Maralee filed a paternity lawsuit against Tristan in June. The suit seeks child support and for Tristan to pay for her pregnancy-related costs, including things like Lamaze classes and prenatal vitamins, according to the Daily Mail.
She wants Tristan to pay for baby expenses as well.
Maralee's lawsuit also asks that Tristan be responsible for expenses associated with the baby, including diapers, formula, and clothes, in addition to the monthly child support she would receive if she wins the case.
Tristan hasn't denied that he's the father.
Tristan has yet to deny that he's the father of Maralee's baby. He stated in his own legal filing, that the only time they had sex in 2021, was on his birthday in March, which actually coincides with Maralee's due date.
He wants the case moved to Texas.
Tristan has requested that the paternity suit be moved out of Los Angeles and into Texas, where Maralee would be entitled to less money in child support. His grounds are that Maralee was a resident of Texas when she conceived, and despite the fact that he owns a home in Encino, California, he lives in Massachusetts.
Maralee says Tristan asked her to get an abortion.
According to the court documents, Maralee asked to submit text messages as evidence in the paternity suit. "It is also apparent from the context and substance of these communications that they are from Tristan to Maralee, which reflects that Tristan is addressing the parties’ relationship, and even with respect to her pregnancy insisting that she get an abortion and threatening that she will get next to nothing with lesser support requirements in Texas," the request reads, according to Page Six.
He allegedly tried to bribe her.
The text messages also reportedly indicate that Tristan offered Maralee $75,000 to drop the lawsuit, and told her that she would get next to nothing otherwise, because he would retire after this season, and technically be unemployed.
Maralee gave birth.
Maralee reportedly gave birth to a baby boy on her due date, December 3, the same day the Daily Mail published the court documents from the suit between her and Tristan, as reported by multiple media outlets.
Maralee posted on Instagram after she had the baby.
Maralee reportedly posted on Instagram after giving birth to her son, saying: "Things feel very hard right now but I know eventually, this will all be over and my baby boy and I can live a happy life. I made a mistake, but I’m human. I won’t be posting any personal photos for awhile as I don’t want to hurt my family. Thanks in advance for understanding." But her Instagram has since been shut down.
Tristan wants a DNA test.
Tristan's court documents indicate that he asked for a DNA test months ago, when Maralee initially claimed that the baby is his. He is reportedly still seeking a DNA test now that the baby has been born.
