Jennifer Lopez flies economy to Paris, but she’s still not just like us & that’s OK

Jennifer Lopez is a jet-setter and has been for some time, but recently she showed the world that even when she’s living that glamorous globe-trotting life of hers, she can be down-to-earth. How so, you ask? Well, recently after vacationing in Naples, Italy, Lopez hopped on a plane to France for Paris Fashion Week. Here’s the thing, though, it wasn’t a private plane. It was a regular commercial plane and she wasn’t even in business class or anything.

She sat in what appears to be coach or economy. All cramped and uncomfortable, just like a non-celebrity would. Except, of course, she booked the entire row of three seats. The window seat was for herself, the middle seat was for her giant designer tote bag, and the aisle seat was for her security guard. This bargain budget travel comes amid persistent rumors that she and hubby Ben Affleck are booking one-way tickets to divorce-ville.

Why was Jen in Italy?

It appears that our superstar from the Bronx was vacationing sans Ben in Italy for a bit. Enjoying herself among friends and soaking up some sun after announcing that she was canceling her This Is Me…Live tour “to be with her children, family and close friends.”

Why did Jen hop a plane to France?

Jen, being the fashionista that she is, she hopped on a plane Saturday night to attend Paris Fashion Week. Nothing strange about that, but it’s her choice of plane that is really making headlines. Instead of taking a private jet, she hopped on a rather packed commercial plane.

Hold up before we all go screaming, ‘She’s just like us!’

Is she? Not really because I don’t know about you, but I could not afford to buy a whole row of plane seats. Nor could I afford to fly with a personal security guard, not that I need one. Oh, and for sure, my non-designer bag would not get its own plane seat.

Why did she fly commercial?

Your guess is as good as mine. Some headlines are implying that she was “spotted flying in ECONOMY after” taking a “financial hit following tour cancellation tour.” Yeah, I’m not buying that explanation. I’m sure she’s just fine financially.

She's not like us.

Maybe she is just trying to be relatable and show the world that she can wait in lines like the rest of us. Maybe she’s trying to reduce her carbon footprint and do less damage to the planet. Whatever the reason, by the time she showed up to attend the Dior show in Paris, it was clear that she is not just like one of us, and that's OK. She's worked hard to create the life she lives.
