Plus-size model Barbie Ferreira is officially our body positivity hero

Nothing makes me happier than to see more and more curvy girls gracing the pages of magazines and walking in high fashion shows. For a while it was just Ashley Graham and Denise Bidot, but there's a new wave of curvy models making the rise and that includes, Brazilian beauty Barbie Ferreira. I love this girl and not just because we share the same last name, but because the girl is as real as it gets.

Ferreira has appeared in a number of fashion campaigns for brands like Aerie, Lane Bryant, and Target. She's also been featured in editorials for both Vogue.com and Teen Vogue. She's not just stunning, she's also very honest. All you have to do is scroll through her Instagram page to see that. Sure, there are glamorous photos of her on shoots and gorgeous selfies, but there are also posts where she gets real about her flaws and her social and political views. The girl also has a sense of humor, isn't afraid to make funny faces and post hysterical memes–gotta love that!

She recently hosted a video for Teen Vogue, called "Body Party," where she once again gets real, but this time about body acceptance.

"Looking at magazines and being someone who wanted to act as a kid, I was very much influenced by things I saw. I think due to the lack of representation, I was insecure," Ferreira says. "Representation is something that is so important, seeing someone that you can relate to in the media is everything as a child and a lot of people are not granted that luxury."

A few of the other models in the shoot, elaborate on the importance of not just seeing more representation, but for brands to actually carry more clothing options for women of all sizes. "Your body gets you going, everyday you wake up, that's what's there. You have you and your body. It's there to fight off sicknesses, it's there to move you to work, to go have fun with your friends," says Ferreira. "What are you going to do? You're going to have this body for the rest of your life. You're going to be miserable the rest of your life and let people take your worth because of the way you look? Because you don't have a photoshopped picture on a Billboard. It's just meaningless, there's so much more to life than how you look." This girl is officially my hero!
