When you are driving along on the highway, you sometimes spot things littered along the way like pieces of an old tire or roadkill, but one of the last things you expect to see is a crawling baby. Right? Well, Bryant Collins of Georgia was driving along the highway on Friday when he says, "I just stopped and, when I got out, there was a baby." Say what?!

He stopped his vehicle and sure enough found a 15-month-old baby crawling "almost in the highway." Collins called 911 and stayed with the child for about two hours. At one point, Collins says, "The baby started crying so I turned my phone on and let her listen to some gospel music, and she calmed right down."
Collins is being hailed a hero for saving that baby and he is a hero. He also happens to be an ex-con. He emotionally admitted to a local news crew "I did ten years in the federal institution for manufacturing cocaine. When I was in prison, I made a very conscientious effort to change, and I did."
He's been free for five years now and was on the job as an auto repairman when he found himself in the position to save a baby's life. Yay, Collins! You done good, you done very good!!! I'd say that doing good suits you well.
Now, just so you know, the baby was about 300 yards from her home. Her father, Timothy Pickens has been arrested and it is looking like the mother will be arrested as well.
How that baby got out and so far away from home is beyond me, but somehow that child survived the ordeal without being hurt. Madison County sheriff Kip Thomas says,"Honestly that's almost a miracle: that a 15-month-old can go that far from her house, into the woods, fall down an embankment, wind up near a major highway, and really not get hurt that bad."
I'm thinking it's an actual miracle because this could have ended horribly.
