Grandin reportedly wanted to make sure there was nothing seriously wrong with the child. So he pulled over to the side of the bus seemingly out of nowhere and got off without any explanation. Passengers then watched as he walked over to the young girl, crouched down, and asked her what happened. As it turns out, Behrendtz was crying after having some conflict with other children. The bus driver comforted her for a couple of minutes and then, realizing that it wasn't too serious of a problem, re-boarded the bus and got back on the road without saying a word to anyone on the bus.

Still, one bus rider, Emma Gustafsson, managed to capture the sweet moment on her cell phone and uploaded it to Twitter. Within days, it retweeted and favorite by thousands of people. Grandin is now being hailed a hero by many and has even had flowers sent to his house by strangers. Still, he maintains his actions were nothing out of the ordinary.

I just love this story. There's so much bad news in this world, that it's great to see that there are still genuinely kindhearted people out there with only the best of intentions. It also serves as a good reminder to all of us that sometimes the smallest gestures can turn a person's entire day around.
