Sometimes you have to laugh to keep yourself from crying. Am I right or am I right? I mean, I could burst into tears over the way that FC Barcelona defender Dani Alves has been treated. Tears! Midway through a game on Sunday as Alves prepared for a corner kick, someone in the stands threw Alves a banana! A banana was hurled at him as a racist insult. You see, apparently Alves is not fair enough for some and he's been called a monkey in the past. Okay, this is the kind of thing that makes me want to burst into tears and call whoever threw that banana a racist piece of caca, but then the way that Alves dealt with the incident makes me laugh and chomp on a banana.
You are going to love his response and the support he got from others.

What did Alves do when the banana was hurled at him? See for yourself.
He picked it up, ate it and went about the business of winning a soccer match. Later he said, "We have suffered this in Spain for some time. You have to take it with a dose of humor. We aren't going to change things easily." That is a classy response to some horrid behavior. Well played Alves, well played.
And what about his fans and supporters? Well, they responded with solidarity and humor using the hashtags #SomosTodosMacacos and #WeAreAllMonkeys on social media!
