Dying father and daughter’s incredible trip down the aisle will make you cry (VIDEO)

One of the greatest joys of fatherhood is getting to walk your daughter down the aisle—which is why a terminally ill Ohio man was determined to experience it, despite his condition.

Scott Nagy was diagnosed with urethral cancer last year, but he wasn't about to let that stop him being there for his daughter Sarah on her big day. When Sarah's wedding took place this past Saturday in a local church, Nagy was there to give her away from a hospital gurney. Their story is so touching, you might want to break out the tissues!

Doctors were uncertain if Nagy would be to attend the wedding, which was initially scheduled for next year. So they came up with a new solution. A nurse at the hospital helped make arrangements for Nagy to attend the wedding on his hospital bed and helped him build up his strength in the weeks prior. An ambulance trip was donated and a volunteer team of medics rode with Nagy to ensure he was comfortable. Later, they helped Nagy—who wore monitor cords and a tracheal tube under his tuxedo– accompany his 24-year-old daughter down the aisle to her waiting groom.

"It was a promise I made in March, to walk her down the aisle," the 56-year-old told ABC News."She's my princess. This is my definition of walking down the aisle." Is that one of the sweetest things you've ever heard or what?

Meanwhile, Sarah was just happy to have dad there with her—something she says she always dreamed of.

What an amazing dad! Maybe their trip down the aisle together wasn't exactly how they once pictured it, but the fact that Nagy did everything he could to fulfill his promise to his daughter only makes it all the more special.
