Take the stairs
Change your habit of waiting for the elevator at work or using the escalator at the mall. Use the stairs instead and you can burn up to 500 calories for every 30 minutes of stair climbing. Plus, you'll love the way your legs will look after a few weeks of this activity.
Park further away
Instead of circling the parking lot looking for the closest spot to park, just take one of those back spots (or even park right outside the lot if possible) and do a little extra walking. Speed walking will burn more calories, of course, than a leisurely pace. So pump it up and MOVE.
Using high heels
I've already told you to take the stairs instead of the elevator. But if you take the stairs while you're wearing your sexy stilettos you'll burn even more calories and give your legs a more intense workout.
Shopping
Make sure you take a walk around the mall while you're there. The faster you walk, the better. As long as you keep moving, you're burning extra calories, even while shopping! As I mentioned earlier, park further away from the stores and take the stairs not the escalator. Even speed walking down the aisle at the grocery store will burn some extra calories. Especially if you speed walk PAST all the junk food. Don't even slow down for a look.
Trying on clothing in the stores
Did you know that trying on clothes can burn up to 11 calories? So try on as many outfits as you want. Mix and match those skirts and blouses knowing you're burning calories the entire time.
Cleaning the house
Believe it or not, those boring house cleaning chores like vacuuming, mopping the floor, reorganizing the closets, doing the laundry and all those other mundane tasks can burn up to 200 calories per hour. So when you take a few hours to catch up on housework, it's almost as good as workout at the gym. Plus, you'll feel good about how great your house looks!
Dancing
Who says exercise has to be boring. Whether it's a night out on the town or just cranking up the music in your living room; you can burn 238 calories while dancing to only three songs. So turn up the music and go wild. You'll not only burn calories, you'll boost your energy level and probably be in a much better mood when you're through.
