The Biggest Loser winner: Is Rachel Frederickson TOO skinny?!

Last night, The Biggest Loser crowned season 15 contestant, Rachel Frederickson, as its latest winner. The 24-year-old Los Angeles voice-over artist earned the title and the $250,00 prize after bringing her weight down from 206 pounds to a super slim 105 on the show.

But the dramatic 155 pound weight loss isn't going over well with everyone. After Frederickson revealed her new figure on Tuesday's episode, many took to social media to wonder if she's actually too skinny now.

So is she really veering into unhealthy territory?! Check out her photo after the jump and decide for yourself.

In the finale, it was revealed that Frederickson lost almost 60 percent percent of her body weight–and the difference is downright shocking. As can be seen in the photo below, she looks dramatically thinner not just from when she first started the show, but from when viewers last saw her on The Biggest Loser triathlon.Even the professional trainers Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels seemed surprised by the drastic change in her appearance. In fact, cameras caught their expressions at the exact moment Frederickson walked out on stage and you can plainly see shock written all over their faces. The image, seen below, quickly made its way across Twitter.

Still, Frederickson seems nothing but thrilled with her weight loss. "I came here to gain back my life, and I did exactly that. I've found that proud, confident girl that has so much respect for herself," she told People backstage after the show.

I'm all for getting fit and becoming your best self, but I have to admit I was just as shocked as Michaels and Harper were after seeing the photos of Frederickson. While it's incredible that she managed to lose so much weight, I can't help but agree in thinking she took her weight loss too far. It's one thing to be thin, but Frederickson looks fragile, as if she could break at any minute. And that kind of skinny is rarely healthy!

Meanwhile, other viewers maintain that Frederickson simply overcompensated in order to allow herself to gain some of the weight back. Hopefully, that really is the case and that she's not pushing herself into a danger zone. Regardless, I hope that NBC addresses the controversy. This show is supposed to send a positive message about embracing a healthy lifestyle and though I don't deny that Frederickson put in the work, I'm not sure that crowning her the winner sends the best message.
