Chances are you've probably been to someone's home where you have to take your shoes off, or maybe you have a no-shoe policy in your own home because you want to keep outdoor germs outdoors instead of getting them on your floors. Well, at Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's home, you might not get asked to take off your shoes, but you will be asked to wear cloth booties over them so as not to scuff their floors because if you do, they'll have to fly in a crew from Europe to fix them. Yup, basically, their floors are too precious to be walked on in shoes.

We know this because in a recent interview for Forbes written by Zack O'Malley Greenburg he shared what it was like to step into the alabaster mansion that Kim and Kanye call home sweet home. Kim described the mansion in Hidden Hills, California, as a "minimal monastery" in a video for Vogue. But let's get back to the whole too-precious-to-be-walked-on floors that they have in their minimal monastery.
The Kardashian-West floors have to be protected from shoes.
According to Greenburg, he was met by a handler in the foyer of the Kardashian-West home and handed a pair of cloth booties to put over his shoes. We're picturing these kinds of cloth shoe covers that you see in hospitals or on repair people making house calls, but who knows, maybe they are fancier and bedazzled or something.
Take a look at the alabaster on alabaster decor and peep the floors.
"The lushly landscaped exterior of the property he shares with his wife, Kim Kardashian West, and their four children (North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm) serves as stark contrast to the unadorned alabaster walls within. Nearly every surface is a monastic shade of white," writes Greenburg.
Wouldn't you have assumed that the floors are made of some kind of marble? Well, they're not.
The floors are not as sturdy as they look.
Greenberg writes, "The floors are made of a special Belgian plaster; if scuffed, the delicate material can be repaired only by a crew flown in from Europe."
Can you imagine how much that costs? We don't have the exact numbers on that but we do know it definitely costs a lot more than heading to your local big box store, buying a bottle of pine-scented floor cleaner, and maybe some floor wax for buffing.
How does Kim feel about it?
Well, the floors were definitely Kanye's choice just like the fancy side-by-side bathroom sinks that Kim is sitting on, above. "The house was all him," Kim told Greenburg. "I’ve never seen anyone that pays such attention to detail." OK, cool then, we hope it's all up to Kanye to fly in the European crew when it's time to fix any scratches on the floor.
We have a suggestion for Kim and Kanye.
We're thinking that instead of having people put on cloth booties when they come into the Kardashian-West home, they should be offered some Yeezy Slides designed by Kanye himself. They retail for $150, which is not cheap, but still cheaper than flying in a crew from Europe to fix the floors.
