Low-cal cranberry smoothie perfect for winter (RECIPE)

Guess what my latest smoothie creation is? It's a festive cranberry smoothie perfect for the holiday season. Cranberries have all kinds of health benefits, they are low cal, deliciously tart, full of fiber, easy to find and really I only ever think about them during the holidays and I certainly do not eat enough of them. Well, not this year! This year I'm drinking my cranberries and not with vodka, but in a smoothie blend. You won't believe how simple and delicious this cranberry smoothie recipe is!

Before I get to the recipe part, I have to tell you that I'm obsessed with smoothies lately. I mean my mother totally raised me on batidos so it's not like it's a new thing in my life, but what happened is that I learned this trick for cleaning your blender super fast. The one thing that always kept me from making smoothies was that I didn't want to deal with the blender clean up and now that I don't have that to contend with I'm like, I must have a smoothie everyday!

Cranberry smoothie

Ingredients

1 cup almond milk
1 ripe banana
1/2  cup frozen or fresh cranberries*
1/2  cup frozen mixed berries

Directions

Put all the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Pour into a glass and enjoy!

*Cranberries are harvested from mid-September through early November, but if you are craving them other times of the year, you can buy them frozen or even freeze some yourself. The added bonus of frozen cranberries is that they make your smoothie deliciously frosty and refreshing.
