My kids are still pretty young and up until now I haven't really had to hide Christmas gifts, but this is the year I start. Last year I put some of their gifts under the Christmas tree ahead of time and every day was a never ending beg-a-thon of, "Can I please open one? PLLLLEEEAAASEEEE!" Uh-uh! I'm not going through that again. So this year, I've come up with a list of seven places to hide Christmas gifts from the kids that I think you may find useful too.

1. The bottom of the hamper. My kids are too young to even be forced to do laundry, so this is a very good spot to hide things in my home. As a matter of fact, it's a great place to hide things from my hubby too.
2. The attic. If you have an attic, it's a great place to hide gifts. If you think your kids would go up there to look you could always scare them off by telling them you thing you saw La Llorona or La Mano Peluda up there. I'm kidding, but only a little bit.
3. The basement. If you have a basement, this could be the perfect stash place for gifts as long as it's not a place your kids frequent. Even so, you could hide the gifts inside of your stored-away suitcases or storage boxes labeled baby clothes or taxes.
4. Behind locked doors. We have a storage spot in the basement that locks and our kids can't get into. You might have a closet that locks … use it! Sure your kids will suspect that there are gifts there, but unless they mastered lock-picking, you should be safe. And if they have mastered lock-picking, well, you've got bigger problems than finding places to stash gifts.
5. In plain sight. I work from home and I get lots of deliveries in lots of boxes. My kids ask if a box is for them and when I say no, they lose interest immediately. I could hide gifts in plain brown delivery boxes and be totally safe.
6. In big pots. Do you have a big pot for menudo or tamales that you don't use very often and keep out of reach? Perfect spot to put smaller gifts in.
7. In abuela's underwear drawer. If abuela lives with you, ask her to stash some smaller gifts under her chonies. You know the kids aren't going to go digging in there.
