How to make brown rice with Latin flavor

I've been trying to make the switch from white rice to brown rice for years, but I just couldn't get used to that bland crunchy taste. I had tried it all, from adding extra salt and olive oil to even mincing garlic, but nothing worked. The truth is, us Latinos like our food with some spice. There was no way I was going to incorporate brown rice as part of my diet if I couldn't manage to make it flavorful. I'm all about eating healthy, but I'm NOT willing to compromise on flavor!

That's when I realized, why not add some of our fresh, tasty seasonings to my brown rice? Genius, right? Kind of makes me wish I had thought of this months ago. Check out my tasty Latin-style brown rice recipe below!

Latino style brown rice:

1 cup of brown rice

2 cups of water

2 tablespoons of homemade sofrito

2 tablespoons of olive oil

Sea salt (to taste)

Preparation:

1. Start by boiling two cups of water in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Once it comes to a boil, add the rice, olive oil, salt, and homemade sofrito.

2. Lower the heat, cover the saucepan with the lid, and let it cook for about 30 minutes.

3. Once the rice is fully cooked, fluff slightly to help separate the grains,

4. Add a few pieces of cilantro as a garnish.

5. Serve with anything, but believe me–it tastes AMAZING with beans!

How easy was that?
