Ahhh, the holidays! It's my favorite time of the year, but it's also the most stressful and hectic too. From the long lines at malls for Christmas shopping and making accommodations at home for guests–it's enough to drive you batty. But along with all these things comes the usual holiday traditions that the majority of us are sick and tired about but continue doing.
We're here to voice them for you, in case you aren't up for admitting it. If you're wondering what you should avoid doing during the holiday season, follow our survival kit and you'll avoid annoying family, friends and yourself!

1. Family photo christmas cards: Yeah, you know what I'm talking about. You hope every year that you won't get that awfully corny family photo Christmas card from your tía, but you can't escape it! I don't know what it is about a family wearing matching outfits in front of a fake Christmas tree that just makes me want to gag. And can't forget the family dog wearing an equally ridiculous outfit!
2. Holiday Sweaters: You love your abuela…but let's face it, she has no fashion sense whatsoever. And let's also put it out there: the holiday sweater with Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer patterns will NEVER be in style. To be honest, I don't know why retailers still make and sell them!
3. Fruitcake: You would think by now that people would get the hint. Fruitcake will never be an appetizing dessert and no one certainly wants to receive it.
4. Christmas Eve shopping: I know life gets busy and before you know it, you realize you NEVER got around to do Christmas shopping. Waiting to shop on Christmas Eve is not only a big mistake, but c'mon, you can't get any thoughtful great gifts if you have to shop in a rush! Instead you'll be aggravated having to travel through packed malls and equally moody shoppers. I advise planning ahead!
5. Christmas Music: Don't get me wrong, I LOVE me some X-mas tunes, but small in doses. When all the radio is playing is the same song from Mariah Carey's Christmas album, it's the last thing you want to hear at a party. Keep those playing at a minimum, or at least intersperse them with some more modern music!
Now that you know what you should avoid this holiday season, party away! But don't forget to be aware of these no-nos!
