2025 Golden Globes: The most memorable red carpet looks

Guess who watched the 82nd Golden Globes on Sunday, January 5 for the red carpet fashion, but kept watching and crying through all the acceptance speeches? Me! I can’t help it, there is something about watching celebrities dressed in designer clothing on what might possibly be one of the best nights of their lives that hooks me and keeps me hooked.

I like watching all awards shows for the fashion, but the Golden Globes holds a special place in my heart because it’s not necessarily the event for edgy or rebellious fashion choices. It’s kind of everyone getting dressed up in their Sunday best, but their Sunday best is just a lot better than most people’s Sunday best. Check out how stars dressed up for the 2025 Golden Globes.

Selena Gomez wore Prada.

Selena Gomez was serving old Hollywood glamour in a light blue gown that reminded me of something Grace Kelly would have worn back in the day. Her hair was even done in a Grace Kelly-esque style, parted on the side without a strand out of place.

Naomi Watts wore Schiaparelli Haute Couture.

The Feud: Capote vs. The Swans actress wore an extremely interesting dress. The top featured a classic strapless sweetheart neckline in what appears to be black velvet. The bottom of the dress is a surprising creation of light pink satin topped with what looks like a whimsical, yet elegant, bowl cut fashioned out of the same light pink fabric. I don’t know how else to describe it.

Adrien Brody wore Thom Browne.

Adrien Brody went home with a Golden Globe for best actor in a drama for his role in The Brutalist. He showed up dressed for the occasion in a suit that fit him to perfection, but what I liked the most about his look was the large abstract brooch he used to accessorize the suit.

Viola Davis wore Gucci.

The critically acclaimed actress was one of the presenters of the evening. She looked spectacular in a custom Gucci gown that featured a dramatic shimmering see-through cape with different colored metallic ribbons throughout.

Ariana DeBose wore Oscar de la Renta.

Oscar-winner Ariana DeBose wore a dress similar to the one Viola Davis wore, in that it also features a transparent cape. However, Ariana’s dress seemed more somber and looked best when it was in motion and catching the wind.

Pamela Anderson wore Oscar de la Renta.

The Last Showgirl actress looked fresh-faced and radiant in a a black gown paired with opera gloves. “They’re my best friends at the moment, they’ve been supporting me,” she told Variety of the Oscar de la Renta fashion.

Coleman Domingo wore Valentino.

The Sing Sing actor is always one of the best dressed actors on every single red carpet he ever graces with his footsteps, and you can’t tell me otherwise. I mean just look at the man. He wears the most interesting clothes and manages never to be upstaged by them. Bravo!

Nicole Kidman wore Balenciaga Haute Couture.

The Babygirl star wore the kind of dress that needs to be seen from every vantage point to truly be appreciated. From the front it’s kind of meh, but once you see what’s going on in the back and on the sides it’s like, “Oh, I get it.”

Eiza González wore Gucci.

The Mexican actress, who is quickly becoming a red-carpet staple, also wore the kind of dress that needs to be seen from all angles to truly be appreciated. She shimmered in a shade of gold that matched the Golden Globes sign.

Karla Sofía Gascón wore Saint Laurent.

The star of the most nominated film of the evening, Emilia Pérez, wore a orange one shoulder gown that lit up the red carpet. “I chose these colors tonight, the Buddhist colors, because I have a message for you: The light always wins over darkness,” the actress said on stage while accepting the award for best picture, musical or comedy.

Salma Hayek wore Gucci.

Is it even a surprise that Salma Hayek wore an amazing dress and looked amazing in it? I don’t think so. She’s a red-carpet regular and never ever disappoints. She also has access to amazing fashion houses as her husband, François-Henri Pinault, is the chairman and CEO of Kering, a French luxury goods company that owns Gucci, Saint Laurent, Bottega Veneta, Balenciaga, and Alexander McQueen, among others.

Zendaya wore Louis Vuitton.

Zendaya, star of Challengers, is another red-carpet pro that never disappoints. She opted for old Hollywood glam in a burnt orange gown with matching shoes. Her hair was worn in a Golden Era of Cinema style that perfectly complemented her attire.

Sofía Vergara wore Georges Chakra Haute Couture.

I wouldn’t say that the Griselda star is a fashion risk taker or innovator, but I would say that she knows what she likes and feels good in and it totally works for her. She has a signature style that doesn’t surprise, but also doesn’t disappoint.

Demi Moore wore Armani Privé.

Demi Moore had a great night. She won the her first ever Golden Globe for her lead performance in The Substance and she showed up to the ceremony looking like a straight up goddess. More Moore, please!

Zoe Saldaña wore Saint Laurent.

Zoe Saldaña took home the award for best supporting actress for her work in Emilia Pérez. Zoe, who BTW is the only actor ever to star in four films that have grossed over $2 billion, stunned in a sequined gown and dramatic cape thingamajig.

Angelina Jolie wore Alexander McQueen.

Angelina’s dress looks pretty unassuming at first, but if you zoom in on the details, you realize it’s quite intricate. There’s shimmer, there’s tassels, there’s movement, there’s elegance. And then, of course, there’s Angelina all quite elegant and ish.

Cynthia Erivo wore Louis Vuitton.

Cynthia Erivo looked wickedly good in a custom Louis Vuitton halter gown that could easily double as a glam outfit for her Elphaba character in Wicked. The fabric of the gown is a glamorous fever dream of silver embellishments with a show-stopping structural waist detail that is pure magic.

Ariana Grande wore Givenchy Haute Couture.

Cynthia’s Wicked costar, Ariana Grande, was also in attendance. Ariana opted for a pale yellow empire waist, strapless gown that she paired with white opera gloves. I’m not the biggest fan of this choice as it’s giving Easter Breakfast at Tiffany’s.

Kerri Washington wore Balenciaga.

The most dramatic part of Kerry Washington’s ensemble was the color of her dress. It was the brightest shade of hot pink that looked even brighter because of the black gloves, stockings, and shoes that accompanied it. It was reminiscent of many Barbie premiere looks.

Nikki Glaser wore Atelier Prabal Gurung.

The host of the ceremony, Nikki Glaser, wore nine different looks throughout the evening with perhaps this brownish gold custom Atelier Prabal Gurung being the most elegant one. That’s not to say that her other looks were not spectacular. They were all fantastic. She put on quite the fashion show, aside from nailing her hosting duties.
