If you haven't already noticed, Kim Kardashian loves wearing her hair in braids, like she REALLY does love it. Just this week she was spotted rocking cornrows and these intense-looking, lace-up thigh high boots. This obviously isn't the first time we see her in cornrows but these are definitely crazy-looking.

Kim also posted a quick video on Snapchat of the look and there's just something really off about it.
Again, we've definitely have seen the reality star rock cornrows along with French braids and boxer braids before. But these cornrows don't look like the ones she's rocked in the past. Not only do they include some strange bead-like embellishments that almost looked like small, hoop earrings but they'e sloppy. I don't know if it was intentional or not but there were stray hairs and loose braids in certain sections and the hair was twisted in a way that showed so much scalp, you'd think the girl was losing hair. I just don't get this.

What's even more upsetting about this look is Kim's unapologetic attitude when it comes to cultural appropriation. Kim, along with the rest of the Kardashian clan (especially Kylie Jenner), have been accused numerous times of constantly appropriating black culture, and it doesn't just end with hair. It's everything from their newly rounded butts to their plumps lips, their urban fashion style and their tremendous efforts in always trying to obtain black features and embrace black culture.
Most folks don't even realize it but it really is an issue and let me explain to you why. Because while Kim might be able to stroll about wearing cornrolls like nothing, there are black women who still get crap til this day for their hair.
Not too long ago, the U.S. military held restrictions on black hairstyles. Natural hairstyles like dreads and twists were banned. Things have come a very long way, but black women with natural hair still experience discrimination in the corporate world.
Even Latinas have experienced their fair share of this. Just a few weeks ago a young Dominican woman named Nicky Gonzalez Mendez was denied a scholarship because of her afro. This is what Kim and the rest of her family don't get. I'm not saying she can't rock these hairstyles but at least acknowledge the history and the struggle behind them. And once you do that, make sure your cornrows at least look neat and in place because these definitely weren't cutting it.
