Don't waste your face in the morning

The Mexican beauty is against washing her face in the morning. Instead, she respect the natural oils in her face. "I don’t wash my face in the morning–never, never, never. I never wash my face in the morning, I think it’s bad for your skin–I just moisturize. I really wash my face at night," she told New York Magazine.

Make sure to exfoliate

The trick to getting Hayek's perfectly glowing skin is to exfoliate like you mean it. The Hollywood actress is a huge fan of one of her grandmother's "potions" for the skin. Her natural remedy was a mix of baking soda, salt, peroxide, and lemon. Scrub on!

Use a good cleansing oil

Hayek loves to use cleansing oils instead of washes. The cleansing oil helps retain moisture instead of stripping it all away. "If I wear a lot of makeup, I'll use the Marigold Oil Cleansing Oil," she says.

Picking the right shade of blush is easy

We've all been there. You thought you picked the right shade of blush until you see yourself in a tagged photo and look like an overdone abuelita. "If you're unsure of your best blush color, look at the inside of your mouth. That will give you a natural color, not too bright. I recommend this over pinching your cheeks," she told Us Weekly.

Massage your face

Most people go for spa body massages, but your face needs the same type of TLC, according to Salma Hayek. "Touching skin is good for circulation and toning! When using my anti-aging cream, I tap it [and work it] onto the skin," she told the magazine.

Beat the frizz

If you have a wavy hair texture like Hayek, she recommends this beauty trick. "When I come out of the shower, I apply a lot of sea-salt spray to damp hair and let it air-dry. My hair has never looked better!"

Eating does a body good

Hayek has been open about never getting Botox or fillers. It may sound crazy, but her secret is to stuff her face with food she loves. "I am happy because I eat. I am 46–I will not have Botox. You know why? Because I eat! I eat the fat, I eat the vegetables, I eat everything," she told Baazar magazine.

Contouring is your best friend

The Latina star loves to contour–especially to slim down her jawline. She told Vogue, "People think you contour only to get cheekbones, but if you study your face and realize that dark colors will diminish features and lighter colors will bring out features, you can design the face you want."

Go exotic

Hayek knows that there's no beating ingredients from the motherland. For her Nuance skin care line, she makes sure to incorporate beauty recipes her grandmother taught her about. She told Elle, "I use an ingredient called Tepezcohuite that's used in Mexico for burn victims because it completely regenerates the skin, and there's no one in the States who is using this ingredient except for us."

Always carry this lipstick in your purse

Most women own countless of lipsticks, but finding the right shade is really the challenge. Hayek has some advice for the timeless shade you should always keep with you. She told the Daily Makeover, "Find that one lipstick that looks so natural on you, you don’t need a mirror to put it on and keep it in your purse all the time."
