SEE Jennifer Lopez’s biggest fashion fail of all time

Even when off-duty, Jennifer Lopez tends to hit all the right fashion notes. Heck, the woman even managed to make Juicy Couture's velour tracksuits look sexy in the early 2000s! But when she arrived at the American Idol set yesterday, she looked downright haggard and one fashion item that should be a no-no in any woman's closet forever and ever… Check out her picture below.

jennifer lopez drop crotch shorts

Donning unfortunate-looking, extra baggy, drop-crotch shorts and a zip-up sweatshirt, her hair in a messy bun and not a touch of makeup on her face. Granted: she probably intended to zip right into the dressing room, without being noticed, but when you're Jennifer Lopez, it's nearly impossible to go incognito–particularly when paparazzi are staked in front of your workplace for hour-long stretches.

Fortunately, a few hours later, La Lopez had ditched the shudder-inducing ensemble and transformed into her signature bombshell self, clad in a figure-hugging nude leather bustier dress and tanslucent Christian Louboutin pumps with sparkling jewel accents for her American Idol appearance.

Sure, we all own a few garments that are so comfortable, we can't imagine tossing them–even if they are positively hideous (for me, it's a pair of Ugg sweater boots). But those drop-crotch shorts? No, m'aam! They can't possibly be comfortable enough to make up for their unseemliness. Moreover, they should never be worn in public. I would've been less disappointed had she shown up in fuzzy chanclas, with her hair in rolos, since that would've at least indicated she was getting TV-ready as opposed to making a conscious decision to wear something she felt was somehow in vogue.

Really examine those shorts … They  make J.Lo look like she's wearing a soggy diaper! Is she trying to bring back the Kris Kross look of the early '90s, when everyone's pants were about four sizes too large? And that below-the-knee length didn't do her any favors either!

I gotta say: I'd rather see J.Lo in a passé velour tracksuit than in this horrendous ensemble! Hopefully, she'll do herself and us a big favor and burn those shorts–it would be for the good of all fashion-loving mankind!
