3 Ways to curl your eyelashes without using an eyelash curler

I'm not going to lie, I have some pretty awesome eyelashes. So awesome, in fact, that I get asked all the time if I'm wearing falsies. I guess I should thank my gorgeous mama for passing down those amazing genes of hers. Yes, being born with long lashes means I never ever wear falsies. But I do, however, wear mascara and I do use eye lash curlers. Why, you ask? Because my long, thick eyelashes are so straight it takes a little extra work to get them to actually curl! No, really, it's a problem!

Eyelash curlers really do miracles. I highly recommend them to any chick, whether your lashes are short or long. But please use the good ol' fashion kind. These new heated lash curlers that have recently come out kind of freak me out. It's like a curling iron for your lashes and the idea alone sounds scary. If hot tools could cause your hair to break and damage, then why would heated eyelash curlers be any different? Sorry, but I'm risking burning my eyelids or causing my beautiful lashes to fall out. There has to be a better way, right? Well, luckily, there is. Here are three ways I curl my eyelashes without using an eyelash curler at all!

Use a spoon: Using a spoon to curl your lashes is one of the oldest tricks in the book. All you have to do is place the side of a spoon (with the bowl face down) against your lash line. Then use your index finger to press your lashes down against the spoon's curve. Rotate the spoon up while still pressing your lashes against it and expect beautiful, curled lashes!

Use an old credit card: A friend of mine once showed me how to make my lashes look drastically longer and curled just by using an old credit card. It's pretty simple. You just press your upper lashes up against an old credit card. I apply my mascara while pressing the lashes against the card and it not only helps to fan out and curl my lashes but also prevents me from getting any mascara on my eyelids.

Use the Q-tip trick: I love the Q-tip trick. You apply two or three coats of mascara and while it's still wet you take the stick part of the Q-tip (not the sides with the cotton swab) and press it against your lashes until they curl up. Hold it for about 20-30 seconds until your lashes dry. Genius, right?
