Any curvy chica or flaquita with thick legs (like me) has struggled with inner thigh chafing–you know, when your inner thighs constantly rub against each other. No thigh gap here! I've gotten it so bad that I've actually made holes in the inner thighs of some of my stretchy skinny jeans. But as you probably already know, this problem definitely presents the most challenges during the summertime.

For once I'd like to throw on a pretty skirt, sundress, maxi dress, or even short shorts without having my sweaty thighs rubbing up against each other causing a very sticky, uncomfortable, and sometimes painful situation. Luckily there are ways to deal and prevent annoying chub rub that doesn't include lipo my friends!
Powder up: Applying baby powder between your thighs is one of the best ways to avoid pesky friction. Just add a thin layer and you're good to go! Try Johnson & Johnson's Baby Powder ($6). You'll feel comfortable and fresh too.
Try a cooling gel: Can you believe there's a gel on the market specifically for thigh chafing? I have to give some major props to the genius that came up with this one. It's called Monistat Soothing Care Chafing Relief Powder Gel ($6) and it instantly creates a silky, invisible barrier on your skin that helps provide relief from chafing. It also works great for your bikini area and arm pits!
Lube: This might sound kind of strange, maybe even disgusting, but some women actually recommend applying lubricant to your inner thighs to prevent chafing and irritation. Yes, I mean the sexual lube you use when you're feeling a little dry down there. Hey it's worked for them!
Wear shorts: I never really mind wearing bike shorts under my dresses, especially with my short flowy ones. Aside from preventing thigh chafing, it's also a great way to avoid flashing someone on the N.Y.C. subway stations or when you're getting out of your car. Embrace your thighs: The truth is most women with full thighs will never experience thigh gap, no matter how much weight you lose. Believe me, I didn't even have it when I was 17, weighing only 100 pounds. And there's nothing wrong with that. The faster you embrace them, the less they'll bother you. Just remember, the fellas tend to love them!
