When two freshly divorced celebrities are reportedly hanging out, dating rumors are a guarantee. That’s exactly what has happened with Jennifer Lopez and Kevin Costner. And reportedly, the actors have been “talking every day” since meeting up during an Aspen getaway.

To recap, J.Lo filed for divorce from Ben Affleck in August 2024 after two years of marriage. She has spoken extensively about the heartache that has caused and how she’s moving on with a focus on herself and her career. But could Jennifer already be open to another relationship?
Jennifer Lopez and Kevin Costner were reportedly spotted in Aspen in early January.
On January 11, Jennifer and Kevin were spotted together at a bar in Colorado, Closer Online UK reported. Jen and the Yellowstone star reportedly talked with friends “while standing close to Kevin.” J.Lo, her kids, mother, and sister all spent their Christmas break in Aspen.
According to a source, he has many qualities 'she’s looking for in her next man.'
A source close to the situation reportedly told the outlet that Jen “is still laser focused on Ben so Kevin certainly has his work cut out for him, but that doesn’t mean this is an impossible situation.”
They added, “Kevin has a lot of the qualities she’s looking for in her next man. He’s incredibly successful and he’s someone that commands a huge amount of respect in the industry and among all their peers. Having him on her arm would make a big statement — and it doesn’t hurt that Ben has always spoken very highly of Kevin.”
Things with Kevin are reportedly 'in the beginning stages.'
Right now, the unnamed insider said Jennifer and Kevin’s relationship is “still at the very beginning stages.” The actor reportedly sent her a “huge bouquet” of her favorite flowers, along with a handwritten note and champagne after they spent time together in Aspen.
The source explained, “Since then, they’ve been talking pretty much every day, and the plan is to get together for dinner in the next couple of weeks, when their schedules line up.”
Still, J.Lo isn't rushing into a relationship.
As Jennifer and Kevin are reportedly getting to know each other, she isn’t “ready to rush into anything right now,” Closer Online UK reported.
The source shared that J.Lo “does seem excited about the potential.” However, if she and Kevin ultimately connect as just friends, “it’s still a massive ego boost to have him falling all over her like this.”
A different source echoed these sentiments in November.
In November, a report from the Daily Mail painted a similar picture of Jennifer’s headspace after divorcing Ben.
“Jen like most people, would love to have love in her life again,” an insider told the outlet. “But the one person she has to [give] time to right now is herself. If something presents itself, then obviously life and love find a way, but she isn’t looking to get into any new relationships.”
Not to mention, she has her twins, Max and Emme, to focus on.
Meanwhile, Kevin is fresh out of a marriage, too.
J.Lo has been married four times — but Kevin recently went through a divorce, too. He and his second wife, Christine Baumgartner finalized their divorce in February 2024 after 19 years of marriage. Before that, he was married to Cindy Costner from 1978 to 1994.
He’s also a father of seven kids: two daughters, Annie, 40, and Lily, 38, and a son, Joe, 36, with Cindy; a son, Liam, 28, with his ex, Bridget Rooney; and two sons, Cayden, 17, and Hayes, 15, and a daughter, Grace, 14, with Christine.
