Those who have followed Bennifer’s relationship know the marriage was decades in the making. Their union, unfortunately, did not stand the test of time. However, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are reportedly ‘still connected’ amid their divorce.

Ben and Jen first dated in 2002 after meeting on the set of their film Gigli. Later that year, they became engaged but called off the relationship in early 2004. Bennifer reconnected in the summer of 2021 and officially married in May 2022. Now that they are officially over, it seems J.Lo and Ben remain friendly.

In an article published by Page Six on December 17, 2024, an insider spoke about Ben and Jen’s relationship today.
âThey have every intention of continuing to be in each otherâs lives despite not being romantically involved,â an unnamed source told the outlet. âBen and Jennifer are still connected and they do communicate when it involves their kids.â
Recently, they reunited to support their kids at a school event.
The insider’s report makes sense, considering Ben and Jen’s recent actions. On December 13, the exes both attended a play at their kids’ school, where Ben and Jennifer Garner‘s child, Fin, 15, and J.Lo’s child, Emme, 16, with her ex, Marc Anthony, performed, TMZ reported. Jennifer Garner was reportedly also there to support Fin.
Ben and Jen also came together in September for a back-to-school brunch with their children.
On August 20, Jennifer filed for divorce from Ben. They didn’t let that get in the way of enjoying a back-to-school-lunch with most of their kidsâEmme and their twin, Max, Fin, and Ben’s son, Samuel, 12âless than a month later, on September 14.
That morning, the former couple and their children gathered at the Beverly Hills Hotel in Beverly Hills, California, for a meal, Page Six reported. Ben and Jen were reportedly spotted “holding hands and kissing” during the outing.
J.Lo also opened up about her holiday plans.
In early November, Jennifer shared her plans for the holiday seasonâand they didn’t seem to include Ben.
âIt was a pretty intense year for me and Iâm most looking forward to spending time with my kids and my family coming out from the East Coast,â she told People. âThe holidays are such a special time for us and theyâve always been since I was a little girl. And I really look forward to those moments when I can be with my sisters and just relax and have fun and create new memories.â
Ben and Jennifer Garner will reportedly spend family time with their kids for Christmas.
Meanwhile, Ben’s Christmas plans involve Garner and their kids, Fin, Samuel, and Violet, 19.
“Jen truly just wants her kids to be happy. She will continue to make sure that they spend time together as a family and include Ben,” a source told People in early December.
“They have Christmas plans with the kids too,” the insider added. “The kids enjoy when they all spend time together.”
J.Lo reportedly struggled with the decision to file for divorce from Ben.
In October, a source told People that J.Lo internally wrestled with ending things with Ben.
“This has been one of the hardest years for Jennifer…She didnât want to file for divorce. She just felt like she had no choice. Nothing was gonna change with Ben,” the source explained.
âShe was very upset about it. But true to her positive outlook on life, sheâs moving forward with optimism. Instead of feeling like sheâs fallen flat on her face, she sees it was meant to be,” they added.
The source continued, “Sheâs taking time for herself right now. She knows she lives a privileged life in so many ways. Sheâs very grateful for all the beautiful memories with Ben, but sheâs now focused on creating the best future for herself and her kids.â
